Anti-Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies are autoantibodies directed against cytoplasmic constituents of neutrophils and monocytes. The most common reasons for requesting an ANCA test are to diagnose and monitor inflammatory activity in the primary systemic small vessel vasculitides, namely Wegener?s Granulomatosis, Microscopic Polyangiitis (and its renal-limited form), Pauciimune Segmental Necrotizing Glomerulonephritis, and Churg-Strauss syndrome.

Test Components
P-ANCA, C-ANCA, Atypical ANCA, and Atypical C-ANCA
Test Information
Samples are screened by IFA using ethanol fixed neutrophils. Positive samples will be tested by MPO and PR3 using Multiplex Flow Immunoassay. For evaluation of autoimmune neutropenia or more rare, febrile non-hemolytic transfusion reactions, refer to Granolycytes Antibodies test performed by Mayo Medical Labs.
