Gold top (Serum w/gel) tube - Serum
Red top (Serum w/out gel) tube - Serum
Samples are best collected 10 days after onset of symptoms. Antibodies may not show up ealier than that and could result in a false negative result.
Positive results will be repeated the next scheduled testing day.
Test is affected by hemolysis and lipemia.
