Collection/Processing Instructions
Venipuncture is the method of choice for blood lead testing as it is less subject to contamination from the skin surface than capillary collection.

Test Information
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Marshfield Labs. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. This test is used for clinical purposes. It should not be regarded as investigational or for research.
Interpretations
The laboratory is required to report the results of all blood lead tests, regardless of the concentration of lead in the blood, to the State of Wisconsin Dept. of Health and Family Services. For pediatric lead levels ≥ 4 ug/dL, comments will be added to the report based on the CDC guidelines.
