Test Code Desmopressin Challenge Desmopressin Challenge
Useful For
Desmopressin (trade name DDAVP) is a synthetic analog of vasopressin. It causes release of von Willebrand factor from endothelial cells and can be used to treat mild to moderate von Willebrand disease (mostly type 1) and less commonly mild hemophilia A. A desmopressin challenge is used to assess the efficacy of this approach before administering it during bleeding episodes or before invasive procedures.
See individual test listings for specimen requirements and test information.
