Test Information
This orders a Platelet Function Test – EPI. If the epinephrine test is prolonged, a reflexive ADP test is ordered and billed.
Interpretations
The interpretation of a prolonged epinephrine test requires the ADP result. Prolonged epinephrine with a normal ADP suggests aspirin or aspirin-like effect. Prolonged epinephrine and ADP are suggestive of intrinsic platelet defect, von Willebrand’s disease or effect of platelet inhibiting agents.
