If patient's ABO/Rh is not recorded in Transfusion Service, a specimen is required.
Patients who are bleeding due to thrombocytopenia or functionally abnormal platelets
Post-operative dilutional thrombocytopenia.

Test Information

A concentration of platelets collected from volunteer donors by apheresis.  This component is more commonly called apheresis platelets or single-donor platelets (SDPs)   HLA matched SDPs require additional patient information, testing and request forms, refer to HLA MATCHED PLATELET CONCENTRATE.
