Collection/Processing Instructions
Remove from cells within 2 hours of centrifugation.
High doses of exogenous biotin (also termed Vitamin B7, Vitamin H or Coenzyme R) may interfere with this assay. It is recommended that patients refrain from consuming any multivitamin or supplement containing biotin for at least 72 hours prior to collection of blood sample.

Interferences
Human Anti-Murine Antibodies (HAMA) may develop leading to interference in patients receiving murine-based agents for chemotherapy or tumor-imaging studies.
High doses of exogenous biotin (also termed Vitamin B7, Vitamin H or Coenzyme R) may interfere with this assay.
Interpretations
Marshfield campus PSA assay shows improved sensitivity with a lower limit of detection of <0.03 ng/mL. Results in the range of 0-2 will be reported to two decimal places enabling improved monitoring of post-prostectomy patients.
