Collection/Processing Instructions

Tubes should be drawn at least 90% full. Invert tube completely three or four times to mix. Do Not Shake. Centrifuge at 3000 rpm (refrigerated centrifuge preferred) for 10 minutes with the brake OFF. Transfer plasma to a polypropylene tube with a plastic pipette. Re-centrifuge this tube and then transfer top plasma to a clean polypropylene tube with another plastic pipette. Freeze immediately.

 

Samples must be frozen within 2 hours of drawing.

 

Specimen should be collected prior to coagulation factor replacement therapy, if possible.
